This is a high quality giclee print of the original artwork 'Kamikaze' by William Gorman.

"Back in 2007, when I was helping a friend move, my mind was wandering and for some reason I was concocting little scenes involving pheasants and their unlikely daily escapades. One running theme was their brave attempts at finding ways of nullifying the threat from an encroaching shooting party. In one they were firing mortar shells and in another it was cannon shells. The images got more and more devious and extreme, so suicide bombing pheasants was the inevitable climax.

I remember quickly sketching the original 'Kamikaze' idea on a yellow post-it note and it wasn't until 2014 that I developed the sketch into a final piece. Unlike all of my other illustrations, this one was completed in black & white, using pen and a watercolour soluble graphite pencil. I later tried doing it in colour but it just didn't have the same impact".
